Meet the Teachers

Each member of our school brings a unique set of skills and expertise combining over 100 years of teaching.  They are passionate, driven and dedicated to ensuring all our students achieve a high level of success.

Devmarie Blake-Brown

Mrs. Devmarie Blake-Brown is an educator extraordinaire with over 20 years of teaching experience. She has a Diploma in Education, a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters of Arts in Linguistics. She has taught students from England, America, Canada and Vietnam. Devmarie is guided by her personal philosophy “Teachers are the bridge between society and students’ success hence, they must equip students with essential knowledge that prepares them for the existing era and beyond

through discovery learning.”

Ashley Letts Berrick

Ashley Letts Berrick holds a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology. She believes every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world, and as such, she will help them to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. Working with the children from The Learning Habitat has really been an interesting journey for her. It gives her a feeling of self-actualization to know that she is willing and able to help these children achieve their fullest potential.

Alecia Gonzales-Morgan

Mrs. Alecia Gonzales-Morgan has sixteen (16) years of successful teaching experience. She holds a Master of Education Degree in Literacy. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Education. She is currently an Executive Board member of the National Association of Teachers of English (NATE) and a member of the Optimist Club. Alecia is a contributor to the text English for Jamaica, Grades 7-9 published by Nelson Thornes. She has served as a Cluster-Based Literacy Specialist on the Education Transformation Program (Curriculum Teaching & Learning Work Stream) with a focus at the Elementary Level. She has worked as Workshop Presenter on Literacy and Language Strategies for the Ministry of Education. Her philosophy is that all students have the ability to become successful readers and writers.

Valeen Williams-Walters

Valeen Williams-Walters has been a teacher for over ten (10) years and she absolutely loves helping children to achieve their academic goals. She holds a Diploma and Bachelors degree in Education. Valeen currently teaches English Language and Literature. Valeen believes that "all children can learn albeit different things and at different stages".

Coleitia Shaw

Coleitia Shaw is a devoted Mathematics educator with extensive experience working with high school students. She has been teaching Mathematics for approximately 12 years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and Education with a double major in Mathematics and Biology.

Teaching mathematics is something that she is extremely passionate about.

As an enthusiastic educator, she understands the unique needs of individual students and strives to enhance their learning and boost their confidence for their all rounded educational success.
